Decree stating that goods from the Indian Ocean trade would be subject to the tariffs applied to goods destined for the “departments known as the Provinces of the five large farms”. Under the Ancien Régime, the ‘Five Big Farms’ were the main traffics leased, under a single lease, to a single farmer. One of the aims of the ‘Cinq grosses fermiers’ was to promote supplies to Paris.
