It contains articles by Chaptal, Huzard, Latreille, Olivier, Parmentier, Sonnini, Thouin and Virey. The 263 plates are engraved by Tardieu, Voysard after de Sève, Meunier and Prêtre (including 3 ornithological plates in colour).

Thanks to the notices to the binders placed in 8 volumes (each covering the collation of 3 volumes) the number of plates can be verified.

Modest but complete working copy, some waterstain, scattered foxing on some volumes, occasional wormholes, browned plates.
