First edition of this French translation by Parmentier.
A member of the Russian Academy of Sciences at St. Petersburg, Johann Georg Model (1711-1775) had published not less than 32 dissertations or letters in Russian scientific journals, all present in this volume, translated and annotated by Parmentier: “The added material frequently occupies more space than the original article” (Cole). The articles concern research on salts, borax, mineral waters, alongside a Dissertation sur la falsification des vins et sur la Distillation de l’eau-de-vie.
