Lacroix, 1172.

First edition under this title of this pamphlet against Molière and his wife, sometimes attributed to La Fontaine for the style in which it is written, the delicacy of certain features and the grace of the narrative. The text was first printed in Frankfurt by Frans Rottenberg in 1688 under the title La Fameuse comédienne, ou Histoire de La Guérin auparavant femme et veuve de Molière.

Fine copy, well bound by Duru.

Provenance : Yemeniz (bookplate, lot 1959 of the sale).
