It begins with a biography of Dante by Lodovico Dolce.
This is one of only three editions of the famous Commedia published in Italy in the seventeenth century, a period during which the author’s style was considered too archaic and not in the taste of the Baroque period.
Paper defect (pp.139/140) affecting a few letters, top corner of pp. 463/464 torn off with loss of a few letters.
