Nissen, BBI, 349 (erroneous collation); Stafleu-Cowan, I, 1091; see Pritzel 1679 (first edition).

Second edition of this fine publication.

It is richly illustrated with plates engraved by Lambert, Dubois, and Gautier based on drawings by Ernestin Panckoucke and Pierre Turpin.

All the plates in the main volume are accompanied by explanatory text.

This second edition of the Flore médicale is illustrated with the same plates as the first edition from 1814–1820; the number of technical plates for the Iconographie has been slightly reduced (from 63 to 61 plates).

La Flore médicale by François-Pierre Chaumeton, continued by Jean-Louis Poiret and Joseph Tyrbas de Chamberet, provides descriptions, histories, uses, and medicinal properties of plants, arranged in alphabetical order. It lists their names in Greek, Latin, and various vernacular languages.

A few scattered small spots, some plates slightly stained or discolored. Most plates protected by endpapers; the cover of the Iconographie is damaged.

A fine copy. Set of 7 volumes.

Illustrated with 421 color etched plates, drawn by Panckoucke and Turpin (medical flora).
