First edition of the rare work describing a large variety of instruments : barometer, thermometer, hygrometer, as well curious instruments such as an œnometer and a cafeometer, and their application to chemistry for drinks, dying, wine, cider, beer, etc.

Chevallier, born in 1778, produced scientific instruments and was appointed by the King. The frontispiece with a portrait of the author, the 15 plates show a variety of intruments together with a different issue of the frontispiece.

Very good copy, spine expertly restored.
